Paws to Give Thanks

Fall/Winter2007

Newsletter 1

Dear friends:

Hope this finds everyone and their pets happy and healthy.  It is fall and the holidays are just around the corner.  It has been a busy year for all our volunteers at A Voice for Pets.  We have spayed/neutered hundreds of dogs and cats in Greene County and have found or provided homes for countless others.  In the month of September we had seven adoptions!

We have a new program and a website in the works.  Our new program is Sweet Paws Safe House.  Many dogs and cats that come into our rescue are not readily adoptable as they may be sick, have an injury, need to be spayed or neutered, need rehabilitation due to abuse and neglect, or have a disability.    By sponsoring one of our pets you can help us provide them with what they need.  Please go to our avoiceforpets@petfinder.com or www.voiceforpets.com to see pictures of our angels in need of your support or a loving forever home.  $10.00 a month would go a long way in helping pay for their vet bills, food, and extras.  During this season of giving, a donation in honor or in memory of a loved one would be the perfect gift.

We are staffed by volunteers and our rescues are housed in foster homes called Sweet Paws Safe Houses.  So 100% of your donation goes directly to the animals.  Your donation is tax deductible as we are a non-profit organization.

We are in need of blankets, towels, cedar chips, and doghouses for the winter.  Our outreach program provides these essentials to the animals in need in Greene County.

Thanks to everyone who has supported us throughout the year.  Hopefully 2008 will be even better.  Thanks to our volunteers, Jen, Phil, Emily, Cheryl, Darleen, Joan, Linda, R.L., Robin, the Beamie's, and everyone else.

Have a wonderful Holiday Season.

Sincerely,

This issue is dedicated to the memory of Tess who came to live at the Safe House Thanksgiving weekend of 2004.  She lived at the Safe House until March 11 when she was adopted by Patsy and her family.  She was a happy and healthy girl digging, doing her little Tess jig and watching over her new family.  She will be missed greatly.
